Important Announcement about the 2020 NCTE Convention from the NCTE Presidential Team
September 23, 2020
NCTE stands in steadfast support of teachers, and we know this continues to be an unprecedented time for so many, particularly within our own community. To that end, the NCTE Executive Committee has voted to reduce this year’s Annual Convention registration fee for members to $175 through the early bird deadline of October 31, 2020. We hope this reduction allows more members of our community to attend the Convention in this most challenging of seasons. Registration fees for students and emeritus members ($110 and $140, respectively) remain the same.
Our Annual Convention is our signature event. It provides rich opportunities focused on teaching, learning, research, and engagement. Although this year’s Convention will be virtual, it promises to uphold our mission of “improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education.” We remain deeply devoted to this mission, to our members, and to sustaining our professional organization.
All registered attendees who paid the original price will be contacted in the next week. Each person will be offered the choice of a refund or the opportunity to donate the cost difference to NCTE, earmarked for a 2020 registration scholarship. Details on the scholarships will be made available next week.
Full registration information for the 2020 Virtual Annual Convention is available here, and you can read about our exciting keynote speakers here. We hope you will join us this November to find new teaching allies, make new connections with luminaries and authors, and gain fresh inspiration for your vital work with students!
