About the Classroom Idea Exchange

The Classroom Idea Exchange is an opportunity for new classroom teachers, experienced teachers, and those preparing to become teachers to hear from presenters about what engages their students. This unique event centers teacher expertise and facilitates the inspiring and affirming exchange of ideas that is the hallmark of our vibrant professional community.

Attendees will:

  • Walk away with concrete and easily integrated teaching ideas for activities, assignments, or classroom planning
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher colleagues across levels (elementary, middle, high school, and college)
  • Build and expand their professional networks
  • Connect with other literacy educators to share and receive best instructional practices

Join us Sunday, November 22, 8:15 to 10:15 a.m., in Room 201 A/B in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Tips for Classroom Idea Exchange Presenters

  • All Classroom Idea Exchange presentations will be shared in person.
  • Presenters will make a quick, no more than 5-minute, presentation where they share a specific lesson, activity, or assignment.
  • Presenters will be assigned to a table; see the table/presentation list when you enter the room.
  • Each table will have 1 or 2 presentations; attendees can sit in on each presentation, then move on to another table.
  • Please bring at least 30 copies of a 1-page handout (no more than 1 page, back-to-back). Consider sharing more digital materials in a publicly shared digital dropbox with a QR code and/or a shortened URL on the handout.
  • Presenters will be asked to share a PDF of the handout a week before the event (these files will be shared with all who attend the Idea Exchange).
  • All presenters are required to register for the Convention.
